Wildflower Safari

Buck Hollow Ranch , a 2,200 acre preserve north of Pocahontas near Warm Springs, will host a Wildflower Safari on Friday, June 24th. The Ranch, located in the Ozark foothills, is home to one of Arkansas’s largest elk herds (over 150 individuals) and contains large natural areas where native plants and wildflowers are found in profusion.

The safari will be led by area wildflower experts. Guests will gather at the high fence gate off Hwy 251 at 9 am on the 24th. Lunch will be served at noon accompanied by a wildflower program including a discussion of organic pesticides and fertilizers.

Gourd Workshop

Gourds have been used for centuries for a variety of purposes. Join the park interpreter and learn how to shape and decorate these unusual plants and create things like bird houses and bowls to take home. Please dress appropriately as some materials may stain. Must be 18 years or older. Space is limited and early registration is required.

Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby

June 4th 2016 – 8a.m. to Noon

Davidsonville Historic State Park’s Kids’ Fishing Derby is held every year on Trapper Lake. This is a great opportunity to get your kids outside and give them a chance to practice their fishing skills. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and fishing will close at 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for all age groups. Kids must bring their own poles and bait. Open to children 5-15 years old.
